How I Feel (poem)

How I Feel

I remember when my world was filled with wonder.
When particles of dust,
illuminated by the sun through the school windows,
made me feel like God was watching me.
Or Aliens had an interest.
I wanted to dance in the dust.
Feel the warmth on my face as I bathed in what could only be pure,
true and real.
Yet I was forced to sit and sing dull hymns that numbed me.
Removed Beauty.
Took us all away from speaking the language we were born with,
forced us to speak english. ABC. 123. In multiplication tables approved by Ofsted.
Oh holy Ofsted and Key Stage frameworks that dictated the way we learn.
You will worship Carol Ann Duffy! And obey the mighty Simon Armitage!
Ignore what is in your own sole for you are not worthy.

Break that mold.

Paint me flowers of rainbow my children!
Make me a word that makes no sense!
Do now ever write in joint up writing!
Be what you.
